The history of high-speed hydrofoils dates back to the end 19 century.
Many designers from different countries seek a solution to improve the speed of ships. By the middle 60 s 20 century, the USSR was the largest producer of
high-speed hydrofoils. The founder of the establishment of Soviet passenger hydrofoil was outstanding designer R.E. Alekseev. Under the leadership of R.E. Alekseev 1949 the project of the first river passenger vessel was designed hydrofoil on 60 people. But only in 1957 he was commissioned ship "Rocket" - the first passenger hydrofoil.
TO 1960 Mr. appeared speed boat "Meteor" .
TO 1961 Mr. emerged first marine ship on the wings of "Comet" .
